Burkina Faso’s SONABEL calls bids for Electricity Sector Support Project

Burkina Faso’s state-owned Société Nationale d’Electricité du Burkina has launched two international competitive tenders for the Projet d’Appui au Secteur de l’Electricité or the Electricity Sector Support Project, which is being funded by the World Bank. The first tender entails the construction of 225 kV transmission lines and has two lots. The first lot involves the construction of the 225 kV Pâ–Diébougou line, while the second involves the construction of the 225 kV Ziniaré–Kaya line. The duration of each lot is 14 months from the date of execution of the project. The last date for the submission of bids for this tender is March 1, 2019. The second tender entails the construction of high voltage substations and extension of the tele-control system, and is divided into four lots. The first lot involves the construction of the Wona and Dédougou substations, the second lot involves the construction of the Pâ and Diébougou substations, the third lot involves the construction of the Ziniaré and Kaya substations, and the last lot involves the extension of the tele-control system. The duration of the first three lots is 14 months, and for the last lot it is 12 months from the date of execution of the project. The last date for submission of bids for this tender is March 5, 2019.
