NHPC Limited is expected to resume work at its two hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 4,800 MW at Lower Subansiri and Dibang in Arunachal Pradesh. The NGT has recently rejected the appeals for stalling these projects. The tribunal has directed NHPC to meet all the conditions laid down in the environmental clearance. NHPC is soon planning to invite bids to award turnkey contracts to build a 70 metre high concrete dam on the Dibang river.
