SECI issues tender for 7.5 GW of solar capacity in Jammu and Kashmir

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a tender to build 7.5 GW of solar photovoltaic power projects in Jammu and Kashmir. The capacity is offered in three tranches of 2.5 GW each to be located in Kargil town and rest in Leh district. SECI will sign a 35-year PPA with the project developers, who will get 54 months to commission the projects. The solar power developers will set up the projects including the transmission network up to the interconnection point at their own cost. The tender is part of central government’s is planning to set up 23 GW of grid-connected mega solar power projects along with a transmission network in J&K.
