Andhra Pradesh government launches new RE policies

The Andhra Pradesh government has introduced the Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy, 2018, the Wind Power Policy, 2018 and the Solar Power Policy, 2018 in line with its target to achieve 18,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2021-22. The projects under the wind-solar and wind policies would be divided into three categories – projects set up on government or revenue lands, projects for captive use or direct sale to third parties, and projects under the renewable energy certificate (REC) mechanism. The new solar policy targets a total of 5,000 MW capacity addition in the next five years.
