The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has issued a discussion paper on Market Based Economic Dispatch of Electricity: Re-designing of Day-Ahead Market in India. The CERC has proposed a market-based economic despatch model which would function on a day-ahead time horizon, and schedule and despatch all generation on economic principles, subject to technical constraints. In a separate development, the CERC has notified the Open Access in Interstate Transmission (Fifth Amendment) Regulations, 2018. The amendment pertains to setting up of the National Open Access Registry as a common electronic platform for short-term open access.
