The CEEC will undertake the design, engineering, construction, supply, installation, and commissioning of 500/220 kV substations on a turnkey basis, in the country’s Kaft El Sheikh Governorate. Currently, the EETC is in talks with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Deutsche Bank AG, for securing funds for the project. Meanwhile, the CEEC is negotiating with Chinese banks such as the Export-Import Bank of China and the China Development Bank (CDB). The scheduled construction period is 15 months from the signing of the contract. Post completion, these will be some of the largest substations supplying power to the national grid.
