NLC India Limited has conducted a boiler light-up test for the first 500 MW unit of the 1,000 MW Neyveli New Thermal Power Project (NNTPP) in Tamil Nadu. The plant will replace the existing five-decade old Thermal Power Station (TPS)-I (600 MW) at Neyveli. NLC India has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the discoms of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry supplying power from the NNTPP.
