Philippines’ NGCP seeks to implement Anti-Power Line Disturbance Act

The Philippines private transmission concessionaire, the National Grid Corporation of Philippines (NGCP) is seeking recommendations on the proposed Anti-Power Line Disturbance Act in the wake of many recently recorded right-of-way breaches that affect the grid operator’s transmission services. According to the NGCP, the proposed move will help prevent obstructions and penalise the introduction of high-growing vegetation or hazardous improvements along the power line corridors. The law will act as a deterrent to the public from breaching the clearance required around power transmission lines.
