The Korea Midland Power Corporation and Posco E&C, along with local partners PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), have commissioned the 56.6 MW Semangka hydroelectric project (HEP) in Indonesia. Located in South Sumatra, the plant generates power using the discharge from the Semangka river. It has been developed to partially replace the energy generated by fossil fuels with a share of renewables in the power generation mix. The plant has been equipped by turbines from Voith Hydro.
