Laos plans to complete 12 hydropower dam projects of a total 1,950 MW capacity in 2019. About 80 per cent (1,570 MW) of the electricity produced by the plants will be exported to Thailand while the remaining 384.94 MW will be used for domestic consumption. The country aims to produce about 33.87 BUs of power, worth about $2 billion, in 2019. About 25.62 BUs of this will be exported while the remaining will be used to meet domestic consumption.
