The MoP has issued a notice directing all pithead generating stations to maximise electricity production owing to the expected increase in power demand in the next few months up to monsoons. Consequently, the coal and rake supply will be maximised immediately for meeting the needs of the current year. All pithead plants will be given priority in the coal and rake allotment for achieving full plant load factor (PLF) irrespective of their fuel supply agreements/annual contracted quantity.
