NHPC appointed aggregator under Pilot Scheme II

NHPC Limited has been appointed as the “aggregator” under Pilot Scheme II, notified by the Ministry of Power, for the procurement of aggregated power of 2,500 MW for three years (covered under the medium term) through PFC Consultancy Limited (PFCCL), the nodal agency. The scheme will involve the transaction of around 18,615 MUs of electricity at 85 per cent plant load factor (PLF) of 2,500 MW and a turnover of more than Rs 70 billion on a yearly basis. NHPC will receive a trading margin from distribution licensees/utilities for providing aggregator services between the generator and the buyer/utility as a trader. In a separate development, NHPC has paid an interim dividend of Rs 5,265.3 million to the Government of India for 2018-19. The company had already paid Rs 2,116.3 million to the government during 2018-19 on account of the final dividend for 2017-18.
