The central government is planning to launch a tender worth $5 billion for the establishment of transmission lines for renewable energy projects in June 2019. The government has awarded tenders for setting up power evacuation infrastructure for 12 GW of renewable energy capacity since December 2018, while bidding for setting up the evacuation infrastructure for another 16 GW is expected to be launched by the end of June 2019. Further, transmission infrastructure for 38 GW is expected to be bid out before March 2020.
