Ethiopian energy company invites EoI for geothermal project

Ethiopian energy company Tulu Moye Geothermal Operations Plc has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) for developing Phase I (50 MW) of the Tulu Moye geothermal project in the Eastern Rift Valley, Ethiopia. The selected contractor will be tasked with setting up the geothermal power plant and the associated steam field gathering system. Phase I is expected to begin commercial operations in December 2021. The project has a power purchase agreement in place with the state-owned utility Ethiopian Electric Power. It comprises four phases, with the last being the largest in capacity (270 MW). The EoIs can be submitted by April 24, 2019.
