GE Power secures order from NTPC for low NOx combustion systems

GE Power India has secured an order worth Rs 1,420 million from NTPC Limited for the supply and installation of a low nitrogen oxide (NOx) combustion system for 10 GW of TPP capacity across India. The project involves in-combustion system modification of the boiler by staging the combustion air in the furnace to reduce the generation of fuel and thermal NOx during the combustion process. The projects that have been selected include the Mouda super thermal power station (STPS), Sipat STPS, Vindhyachal STPS, Simhadri STPS, Vallur thermal power station and Talcher STPS. The low NOx combustion system will be delivered in a phased manner over a period of 30 months.
