Philippines’ ERC approves NGCP to construct 69 kV transmission project

The private concessionaire for the Philippine transmission network, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, has received approval from the Energy Regulatory Commission for construction of the 69 kV La Trinidad–Calot line project. The key project components include the 17 km, 69 kV La Trinidad–Calot line and expansion of the La Trinidad substation. The project will involve the construction of a transmission line using new right of way and decommissioning of some portions of the old circuit line. The remaining existing line that will be dedicated to the Benguet Electric Cooperative’s (Beneco) Sanitary Camp and Irisan, the biggest barangay in Baguio City, will be reclassified as sub-transmission asset and divested to Beneco.
