Private power producers request MoP to extend TReDS

Private power producers have urged the MoP to consider extending the trade receivables discounting system (TReDS) applicable for micro, small and medium enterprises to help resolve their payment issues with discoms. The Association of Power Producers has stated that at the end of January 2019, the amount of receivables due from discoms stood at Rs 412.4 billion, of which dues from the sale of power are around Rs 172.46 billion, while dues stuck in litigation are worth Rs 171.28 billion and nearly Rs 68.65 billion of receivables are pending despite adjudication.
