IWTMA expresses concerns regarding wind segment’s growth

The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) has expressed concerns regarding challenges in the wind energy segment to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). In a recent meeting, IWTMA highlighted the segment’s struggle in the transition from feed-in tariff (FiT) to reverse bidding. The IWTMA has suggested the implementation of FiTs and a firm policy framework for reaching 50 GW of wind capacity, a waiver of interstate transmission charges for captive consumers, uniform wheeling and banking charges, FiTs for less than 25 MW for small domestic investors, and renewable purchase obligation enforcement in states, among other things.
