Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has signed an MoU with Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL) for the construction of facilities for drawing 120 MW of power from the 220 kV substation owned by AEGCL. The project includes the setting up of 15 km long 220 kV overhead power transmission lines and a 220 kV substation near the Numaligarh refinery in Assam. The MoU will help NRL to meet the additional power requirement of about 74 MW for its upcoming refinery expansion project.
