The Andhra Pradesh government has received five bids for developing a 400 MW energy storage project in the state. The bidders include the Greenko Group and Sterlite Power. Of the five bids, two are for pumped storage. The proposed project will comprise an energy shifting solution with eight hours of discharge per day (3,200 MWh). In February 2019, Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited had invited EoIs from companies for setting up the power storage solution by October 2021.
