Eaton has introduced HMH 12-36 kV and URING 36 kV SF6, an exclusive range of ring main units (RMUs), in India. These two product ranges will strengthen the Eaton RMU series in India, where the RVAC and XIRIA ranges were earlier available.
Commenting on the introduction of the new range, Syed Sajjadh Ali, managing director, India, Electrical Sector, Eaton said, “Eaton is the most versatile manufacturer in the world for LV and MV Switchgear, which includes RMUs ranging from 12 kV to 36 kV, complementing our existing range RVAC SF6 and XIRIA Solid insulated. We are proud to say Eaton was the first to introduce XIRIA solid insulated RMUs way back in 2007 in India, which has been working for more than 12 years without any maintenance. Eaton has now invested in Pondicherry to produce the state-of-the-art RMU products, meeting global standards and serving Indian utilities and industries. Adding to the complete range, Eaton has introduced 36 kV URING compact RMU and HMH 36 sandwich RMU to meet the growing need of the Indian market.”
The Eaton URING 36 RMU is a compact solution with SF6 insulation for secondary distribution. This is a completely sealed system; all live parts and switching functions are enclosed in a maintenance-free stainless steel tank, which ensures a high level of reliability and personal safety.
Eaton HMH Series RMU will be available in the range of 12-36 kV and is type-tested switchgear as per the IEC standards up to 36 kV, 1250A, 25KA. It has a modular structure, in consideration of functionality, appearance and security features. HMH Series delivers safe operation with mechanical and electrical interlocks. It also has a long life cycle and low power consumption, and works on motorized or manual operated spring charged mechanism.
The Eaton RVAC SF6insulated RMU solution is available in the range of 12 kV to 24 kV and comes with a complete range of functions to cover almost all network configuration requirements. RVAC is designed as compact to limit footprints, is flexible for easy site handling and installation, has exten dable structure with operation-friendly interface, and assures highest safety by monitoring and managing gas pressure continuously.
Eaton XIRIA RMU ranges from 12 kV to 24 kV solid insulation technology, designed as compact, environment friendly with Vacuum switching technology, user-friendly and lower cost of ownership. XIRIA is a reliable and very efficient solution for all applications: mining, infrastructure, distribution station, clean energy, industrial facilities, transformer kiosk, commercial buildings and residential markets. The new range is available with advanced features, providing safe, reliable and efficient solutions for all applications in medium voltage distribution networks including automation built into products.
