NTPC has earmarked a capex of Rs 200 billion for 2019-20. It expects to generate 310 BUs of electricity and produce 10.4 million tonnes (mt) of coal during the year. NTPC also plans to improve its operational efficiency and undertake technological upgradation of its power stations. In another development, NTPC has issued engineering, procurement and construction tenders for 1 GW of grid-connected solar PV projects in Phase II, Tranche I, of the central PSU programme. The bid submission deadline is July 15, 2019. A single bidder must bid for a minimum of 50 MW and can bid for a maximum of 300 MW.
