Philippines’ San Miguel Corporation seeks financing for 300 MW coal project

The power unit of the Philippines-based conglomerate San Miguel Corporation is arranging funds for the construction of two 300 MW circulating fluidised bed coal-fired power plants in Pagbilao, Quezon, and Mariveles, Bataan, at an estimated cost of $2.4 billion. Each project will have four 150 MW units. Separately, SMC Global Power Holdings Corporation is planning to construct and operate two 600 MW units of a combined cycle gas turbine power project in Batangas province.
