The SECI’s 750 MW solar tender for Rajasthan has been oversubscribed by 350 MW. Bids totalling 1,100 MW have been submitted, as against the tendered capacity of 750 MW. Ayaana Renewables has submitted a bid for 250 MW capacity, Hero Future Energies for 250 MW, Mahindra for 200 MW, ReNew Power for 140 MW, NTPC Limited for 160 MW, and Azure for 100 MW. The projects are to be developed on a build-own-operate basis.
The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission of Goa and Union Territories has sought a progress report from the Chandigarh Electricity Department (CED) on smart metering under the smart grid project. The utility plans to replace 30,000 existing meters with smart meters in Sectors 29, 31, 47, 48, industrial area Phases 1 and 2, and some villages. The contract is being executed by Analogics Tech India Limited for Rs 280 million. The project is part of the National Smart Grid Mission and 30 per cent of the project cost will be met by a grant from the MoP, while the rest will be borne by the CED.
