NTPC awards contracts to GE Steam Power

NTPC Limited has awarded three contracts worth Rs 23.11 billion for the supply and installation of wet flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems to GE Steam Power. The three projects are Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project (IGSTPP) Jhajjar (3×500 MW) by Aravali Power Company Private Limited (APCPL), the Simhadri super thermal power station Stage I (2×500 MW) and Stage II (2×500 MW) by NTPC, and the Sipat super thermal power station Stage I (3×660 MW) by NTPC. The scope of work includes the design, engineering, civil works, supply, erection and commissioning of wet FGD systems along with auxiliaries including limestone and gypsum handling systems and wet stack on a full turnkey basis. In addition, the scope for the IGSTPP Jhajjar includes 10 years of operations and maintenance along with the supply of spare parts.
