Tata Power-Delhi Distribution Limited (DDL) recently organised the “Solarize Shakurbasti” event in Shakurbasti, North Delhi, in line with the Delhi government’s solar policy initiatives. The state government is giving a generation-based incentive of Rs 2 per unit of solar generation for the first five years. A 30 per cent capital subsidy is also being provided for domestic consumers, housing societies, and the institutional and social sectors under the Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited scheme. This is for both the capex and the RESCO mode, wherein Tata Power-DDL consumers will not have to make any upfront investments. The company has conducted workshops in over 60 resident welfare associations in its area. So far, 656 consumers in its distribution area have installed rooftop solar systems aggregating 25 MWp of capacity. Of these, 324 are domestic consumers.
