Fortum has signed its first commercial project with Hindalco Industries Limited. The project is aimed at nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions reduction through combustion modification in one of the 150 MW boilers located at the Aluminium Smelter Unit in Mahan, Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh. The modification will enable the power plant to comply with the tightened restrictions on NOx emissions. The timeline for the completion of this project is mid-February 2020.
