The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to bid out 2,640 MW of greenfield coal-fired power capacity. The state government will invite private companies to bid for setting up two projects of 1,320 MW capacity each. The power from the proposed projects will be sold exclusively to the state. Currently, the proposal is awaiting approval from the cabinet. Reportedly, CIL has already given in-principle agreement to supply coal for the projects.
