Supreme Court allows APML to terminate PPA with GUVNL

The Supreme Court has allowed Adani Power Mundra Limited (APML) to terminate its PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited due to the non-supply of coal from the Naini block of the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation. The court has also allowed APML to seek a compensatory rate to be approved by the CERC for the electricity that it had alternatively supplied to Gujarat from its Korba power project in Chhattisgarh. The compensatory rate for APML will have to be decided by the CERC within three months from the date when the company approaches it.
