The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has proposed a framework for the real-time electricity market by issuing draft amendments to the Indian Electricity Grid Code, 2010, Power Market Regulations, 2010 and Open Access in Inter-State Transmission Regulations, 2008. The commission has proposed a half-hourly market with the concept of gate closure and double-sided closed auction with a uniform price. The commission has invited suggestions and comments on the framework by September 5, 2019.
