The Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission has determined the aggregate revenue requirement and retail supply tariff for the state discoms for 2019-20. The tariff will be made effective from August 17, 2019. The average tariff hike across the categories is 7 per cent against the 12.3 per cent demanded by the discoms. The hike in tariff for domestic connections and non-domestic connections has been kept low at 5.1 per cent and 4.9 per cent respectively. A rebate of Re 1 per unit applicable for new high tension connections has been allowed to all the new connections. It was earlier given to only greenfield projects.
