NTPC signs MoU with BHEL for ultra supercritical plant

NTPC Limited has signed an MoU with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) to set up an 800 MW technology demonstration plant in Sipat, Chhattisgarh. The demonstration plant will be based on advanced ultra supercritical technology, which marks a significant improvement in operational parameters over supercritical technology deployed in thermal power plants (TPPs) currently. This project would reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 20 per cent as compared to the conventional subcritical technology.
