Siemens Gamesa Secures wind turbine order from Alfanar Group

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has secured its first order in India with Alfanar Global Development for the supply of 206 units of the SG 2.2-122 wind turbines for two wind farms totalling 453 MW in capacity. Both the projects will be located in Bhuj, Gujarat, where the company will supply 202 MW for one project and 251 MW for the other. The wind farms are expected to be commissioned by 2020. Alfanar is already a customer of Siemens Gamesa globally and the present order marks the first deal with the company in India. Alfanar is delivering turnkey projects globally for renewable power generation projects in the UK, Spain, India and Egypt.
