CHC’s subsidiary asked to reconduct feasibility study of hydropower project at Koh Kong  

The Cambodian Ministry of Mines and Energy has asked the China Huadian Corporation’s (CHC) subsidiary to reconduct the feasibility study for setting up two hydropower plants totalling 170 MW in Koh Kong province. China Huadian Lower Stung Russei Chrum Hydroelectric Project (Cambodia) Company Limited plans to build a 100 MW hydroelectric project (HEP) and a 70 MW HEP in Mondul Sima district. CHC currently operates a 338 MW hydropower dam in the same district. To help the company with the feasibility study, the ministry has decided to form a working group comprising officers from the ministry, the Electricity Authority of Cambodia and Electricite du Cambodge.
