Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has secured an interstate transmission project under the tariff-based competitive bidding route. The project entails setting up of a transmission system associated with long-term access (LTA) applications from Rajasthan SEZ Part-B on a build-own-operate-maintain basis. The transmission system comprises a 765 kV double circuit (D/C) line and associated bays to be established in Rajasthan. In another development, Powergrid has acquired Bhind Guna Transmission Limited, the special purpose vehicle for establishing the intra-state transmission network associated with the construction of a 400 kV substation near Guna and 220 kV substation near Bhind, both in Madhya Pradesh. The transmission system comprises 400 kV, 220 kV and 132 kV transmission lines and new 400/220 kV and 220 kV/132 kV substations at Guna and Bhind respectively. The transmission system is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.
