Scaterc Solar’s 66MW Merchang plant connected to national grid in Malaysia

Scaterc Solar’s 66 MW direct current (DC) solar power plant in Malaysia has been connected to the national grid. The Merchang plant is the company’s first large-scale solar project in the country and is expected to provide about 94,000 MWh of electricity per year. The clean energy produced by the plant will reportedly reduce 70,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year, and provide electricity to over 31,000 households. With the grid connection of the Merchang plant, Scaterc Solar now has a total capacity of 911 MW in operation, of which 197 MW is in Malaysia. Another 993 MW of capacity is under construction.
