The Electrical Research and Development Association (ERDA), the IEEE Power & Energy Society (IEEE-PES) and the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association, with Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) as the knowledge partner, jointly organised a one-day workshop on “Transformer Design, Applications and Life Extension” on September 4, 2019 at Hotel Sayaji, Vadodara. The programme was inaugurated by, K.M. Bhuva, director technical, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, and B.B. Chauhan, managing director, GETCO. The main objective of this workshop was to share and discuss the transformer design aspects, specifications, special applications and life enhancement technologies, with designers, manufacturers, utilities, consultants, academia, and research and development institutes’ professionals. More than 170 representatives of utilities, industries and academia from various engineering colleges participated in this workshop.
