Burundi’s state-owned Regie De Production et De Distribution D’eau Et D’electricite (REGIDESO) has invited international competitive bids for the construction of 220 kV lines and substations. The contract is under the Projet d’Interconnexion des Réseaux Electriques des Pays Equatoriaux du Nil or the Electricity Interconnection Project of the Equatorial Nile Countries, and is being funded by the African Development Bank. The scope of the contract entails construction of the 220/110/30/10 kV de Bujumbura substation, and extension of the 110 kV RN1 substation and 220 kV Kamanyola-Bujumbura line, along with associated 110 kV lines. The last date for bid submission is November 22, 2019.
