The Nepalese government has pledged to actively complete the procedural works associated with the US-based bilateral foreign aid agency Millennium Challenge Corporation’s (MCC) electricity transmission project and road maintenance project. The Nepalese foreign ministry has enlisted these projects as national pride projects. The total cost of the projects is $630 million, of which $500 million is being provided by MCC and the remaining $130 million by the Nepalese government. The compact project is expected to receive endorsement from the Nepalese parliament in its winter session. The MCC and Nepalese government are working together to address the power sector needs in the country.
