SJVN to invest Rs 12.36 billion for transmission infrastructure of Arun-3 HEP in Nepal

Indian hydropower developer SJVN Limited is investing Rs 12.36 billion for the construction of the 217 km long 400 kV line connecting the Arun-3 Power House, Diding (Nepal), and Bathnaha (Nepal border), which will evacuate power from the Arun-3 hydroelectric project (HEP). The Arun-3 HEP has the potential to generate 3,924 MUs of electricity per year. The 400 kV line will further be connected to the 400 kV Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur line section was commissioned in February 2016, which is a part of the Nepal-India electricity transmission and trade project.
