Thailand-based IPPCK Power Public Company Limited soon plans to commence full operation of the 1,285 MW Xayaburi hydroelectric power plant. This project began supplying power from the first unit to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) in April 2019. EGAT issued a certificate of readiness for operation on October 1, 2019 for seven turbine generators of this power project. The seven turbine generators have a capacity of 175 MW each and the entire power output will be supplied to EGAT through a 500 kV transmission line in Tha Li district of Loei province.
