DERC imposes penalties on Delhi discoms for RPO non-compliance

The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has imposed penalties of Rs 17.1 million on Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), and Rs 28.8 million on BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) for defaulting on the RPO targets for 2012-13 to 2014-15. The order was passed on the petitions filed by the Green Energy Association and the Indian Wind Power Association. The petitioners sought action against the discoms under the DERC (Renewable Purchase Obligation and Renewable Energy Certificate Framework Implementation) Regulations, 2012, for failure to meet the RPO.
