DPPC bans use of DG sets in Delhi NCR

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has banned the use of diesel generator (DG) sets in the city from October 15, 2019 except those being used for essential services like railway, metro, hospitals, airport and the interstate bus terminus. The ban has been extended to Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Sonepat, Panipat and Bahadurgarh as well. Many residential consumers and small to medium industries rely on DG sets for backup power supply and captive generation.
