Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has successfully operationalised two units of 660 MW each at NTPC Limited’s Khargone super thermal power project in Madhya Pradesh and the Tanda thermal power station in Uttar Pradesh. This has enabled NTPC to add 1,320 MW capacity to the national grid. The 660 MW Khargone unit is the country’s first ultra-supercritical unit set up on a complete engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis. The 660 MW Tanda unit is equipped with supercritical boilers manufactured by L&T-Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) Boilers Private Limited, a JV of L&T and MHPS, Japan.
