The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has issued a clarification stating that the target date for achieving the 175 GW renewable power installed capacity is December 31, 2022. As of endSeptember 2019, India had a renewable energy installed capacity of over 82,580 MW. By the first quarter of 2021, the country is expected to have a renewable energy installed capacity of 113,000 MW. Besides this, about 39,000 MW of renewable power capacity is at various stages of bidding and would be installed by September 2021.
