Reliance Power Limited (RPower) has planned a capital expenditure of Rs 40 billion to install flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) units across its operational coal-based capacity of 6,000 MW. The company also plans to increase its presence in the renewable energy as well as waste-to-power segments. The company is developing a 1,500 MW gas-based power project in Bangladesh with a capital outlay of Rs 50 billion in a JV with Japanese utility JERA Co., Inc. The company will be relocating assets from its stranded Samalkot combined cycle power plant in Andhra Pradesh to the Bangladesh project.
