SJVN plans to invest Rs 70 billion in Arun-3 HEP in Nepal

SJVN Limited plans to invest about Rs 70 billion in power generation and transmission projects in Nepal. SJVN is executing the 900 MW Arun-3 HEP on the Arun river in Sankhuwasabha district of eastern Nepal. As part of the project, the company will invest Rs 57.24 billion in generation and Rs 12.36 billion in transmission system development. The Arun-3 HEP has the potential to generate 3,924 MUs of electricity every year. The power evacuation system for the project consists of a 217 km long 400 kV double circuit transmission line from Diding (project area) in Nepal to Dhalkebar (Nepal border).
