Uttar Pradesh government and Dutch company sign MoU for WtE plants

The Uttar Pradesh government and Dutch company GC International have signed an agreement for setting up waste-to-energy (WtE) plants in Muzaffarnagar and Ghaziabad. Under the agreement, the company will invest Rs 20 billion for setting up the two plants. The state government will subsequently sign an MoU with the discoms for the purchase of electricity from the plants at the rate of Rs 7.50 per unit.
