GSECL commissions 800 MW supercritical unit at Wanakbori

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited has commissioned an 800 MW supercritical thermal power unit at the Wanakbori expansion project in Kheda, Gujarat. The project has been executed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). BHEL had earlier set up seven units of 210 MW of capacity each at the Wanakbori project. BHEL has executed the order for setting up the plant on an engineering, procurement and construction basis and its scope of work included design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the steam turbine-generator, boiler, associated auxiliaries and electricals, controls and instrumentation, and electrostatic precipitators.
