The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has issued the draft Terms and Conditions for Determination of Renewable Energy Tariff Regulations, 2019. The regulations cover renewable projects commissioned in the state for the generation and sale of electricity to distribution licensees in Maharashtra. As per the regulations, the project-specific tariff for the generation of electricity from these renewable sources should follow the ceiling norms. Earlier, in May 2019, the MERC fixed the generic tariff for solar projects at Rs 3.29 per kWh and for rooftop solar projects at Rs 3.79 per kWh for 2019-20.
